Mongolians are nomads by default and towns there are usually far in between. Little villages are mostly settled by Buriats with a mix of Mongolian people. While traveling in Eastern part of Mongolia I run in a few of those so called towns which are pretty run down and looked like doesn’t belong there at all. Exception is Ulan Batar which is a dusty polluted megapolis with modern high risers.
