Cathedral of the Theotokos. From “Reflections of Vilnius” cycle 2013 The cathedral was built during the reign of the Grand Duke Algirdas for his Orthodox wife Maria of Vitebsk in 1346. It is one of the most ancient churches of Vilnius, built before the christianization of Lithuania when the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was the last pagan state in Europe.
Church of All Saints. From “Reflections of Vilnius” cycle 2013 This Church was built between 1620-1630 in so-called the Carmelite Baroque style. After the Church and the friary were closed down between 1832 and 1886 a large part of treasures of art were scattered. In 1904, on the initiative of Priest Čudovskis the Church was restored.
Augustinian Church of Blessed Virgin Mary of Consolation. From “Reflections of Vilnius” cycle 2013 This abandoned Church stand as testaments to the power of faith and the construction skills of motivated craftsmen though their congregations have forsaken them.
St. Anne’s Church. From “Reflections of Vilnius” cycle 2013 St Anne’s Church is beautiful example of Late Gothic in Lithuania. This Church as it stands today dates back to the late 15th century and remains almost unchanged. Rumor floats that Napoleon upon seeing St. Anne’s Church, said that he would like to place it in the palm of his hand and move it to Paris.
Bernardinų Street in Vilnius. From “Reflections of Vilnius” cycle 2013 A closer look reveals an arch over Bernardinu St. with a couple of tea pots embedded into a wall from Pilies St. in Vilnius oldest part of the Old Town.
Clock tower of Cathedral Basilica of Saints Stanislaus and Vladislaus. From “Reflections of Vilnius” cycle 2013 Clock Tower is situated in the Cathedral Basilica of Sts Stanislaus and Vladislaus Square. It is the main symbol and spiritual centre of the Lithuanian capital Vilnius as well as a monument to the Baptism of Lithuania. Here Lithuanian rulers were crowned, here nobles and bishops were buried.

Walking on rainy days we are careful not to get our shoes wet and usually don’t pay much attention to something as ordinary as a puddle, but with a little imagination, water reflections in those puddles are like windows of strange worlds. Through those rippling windows you could glimpse at things from a new perspective and make rainy days sort of fun to wonder around.
